Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story, is a 2020 documentary that focuses on the success of the Ren and Stimpy Show and the rise and fall of the career of John Kricfalusi, which includes his interviews from his co-workers and friends that go into detail on him and his infamous behavior.

Summary

Happy Happy Joy Joy chronicles the rise and fall of one of the most influential animated series. It's the story of a group of talented artists whose incredible work created two of the most beloved characters of all time - Ren and Stimpy.

Production

Production on the documentary restarted shortly after Robyn Byrd and Katie Rice disclosed their stories of being sexually harassed by Kricfalusi while they were underaged after the documentary was first finished in March 2018.

The documentary was first released at the Sundance Film Festival on January 28, 2020 and later on Amazon Prime on August 14th 2020 and eventually on Blu-Ray on October 13th 2020, which include special bonus features on Bill Wray sharing his insights on John K, interview with the real Anthony, etc.
