"Fake Dad" is an episode of the second season.
Characters[]
Summary[]
Ren and Stimpy adopt an overgrown, seven-year-old convict named Kowalski. Stimpy is kind and understanding towards the needy "youngster", but Ren has a bit more trouble adjusting to parenthood.
Trivia[]
- This is the final episode of the original series to be entirely laid out at (and thus primarily produced by) Spümcø; all remaining episodes in the second season would undergo layout either at the newly-formed Games Animation or overseas. While the later "The Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen" underwent minor layout at Spümcø prior to John K's firing, these drawings were almost entirely discarded or reworked at Games.
- The sound clips from previous Season 2 episodes are reused for this episode.
- Ren getting his shot from "In The Army" is reused for when Ren tries to turn Kowalski over so he can burp him.
- Ren crying when realizing the consequences of not brushing his teeth in "Ren's Toothache" is used for Ren crying onto Stimpy after his fake son is sent back to prison.
- Ren’s laugh from “Sven Hoek” is reused for when Ren was about to spank Kowalski
- A sound bite of Kowalski whimpering is used in "Lair Of The Lummox".
- This is the first episode Stimpy has a maid apron. He wears an maid apron again in School Mates.
- This episode was going to be a 22 minute special episode, but due to the scene where Kowalski playing football with Ren and Stimpy being cut from the original version, this episode was pushed down to 11 minutes, and later paired up with "Out West".
- Games Animation initially planned to keep in the sequence involving Kowalski playing football with Ren and Stimpy, however, it was cut out as Jim Ballantine found the sequence to be boring.
Errors[]
- In the scene where Ren's fur is all gone, Ren is seen furless at first, but after, his fur comes back.
- It took 36 weeks to burp Kowalski, but Ren only had him for the weekend.
